Spanish Churros  with Chocolate Sauce


  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 650 mls water
  • 600g flour
  • Fine zest of 1 orange
  • 1 tsp good quality caster sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten


  1. In a saucepan bring water, sugar, orange zest to the boil and set aside
  2. Add the flour and stir in and mix to form dough and cook gently cook
    out 2- 3 minutes back on the stove
  3. Transfer dough to food processor and slowly add the beaten egg
  4. Place mixture in piping bag with a medium sized star nozzle
    and deep fry in hot oil
  5. Drain on kitchen paper and toss in cinnamon sugar and serve with hot chocolate sauce
  6. For the chocolate sauce melt 400 gr chocolate with a little condensed milk
